Votion has submitted six patent applications to the Swedish Intellectual Property Office in order to protect the company’s proprietary process technology. These patent applications cover Votion’s entire process for the production of advanced biofuels from biomass, including the conversion of biomass to bio-oil, demetallization of the bio-oil, and hydroprocessing of the bio-oil. One key invention included in the patent applications is Votion’s production of a bio-oil from bark.

Votion plans to continue the intellectual property process by filing the corresponding international applications (PCT) in 2023.
